Flat tire bummer to manual awesomeness

Last weekend I made the drive up to Boulder again for a 'cross race. I pre-rode the course and loved it, and I was all revved up to go at the start line, feeling strong, and I flatted. Yeah, flat tire.
Talk about a let down...there's not enough time to bother changing a flat in cyclocross, and I'm not cool enough to have an extra wheelset in the pits, so I was done before I even started.
So I went to the pump track. I wasn't feeling it too much, but Jane's friend Brandon was there, working on manualing doubles (for the normal person reading this, manualing is like doing a wheelie, but without pedaling). I can't even wheelie, but Brandon's friend was clearly a good instructor, so I thought I'd give it a try.
You know what made it work for me? I realized that I basically had to drop my bum like I was a white girl on the frat boy dance floor. Boom! I had it--I can finally manual!
