Bikes + Thanksgiving = Bikesgiving

So what to do when traveling home for Thanksgiving is not reasonable? Do something more unreasonable!

My college buddies descended on the town of Moab from far and wide. Some arriving at the beginning of the week, the rest of us filtering in until we congregated on Wednesday night. That was our first night desert camping. Yeah, it gets a bit chilly. But a little snow didn't slow us down; We averaged a couple rides a day including the Sovereign Trail, Amasa Back, Tusher's Canyon, the unbeatable Porcupine Rim, Bartlett's Wash, and my personal favorite, the dirt jumps.

The dirt jumps rocked. Somebody spent a chunk of their life making these things PERFECT.

A note about dirt jumps and I: I love going to the jumps and playing around. Unfortunately I stink at it. But this time was different--I had the guys to heckle me. With Tim, Will and Josh's gentle guidance ("You need to go bigger." "Stop prejumping and let the jump throw you"), I finally got some decent air. See the picture? It's proof. Yes, I know, it's not very big, but it's a start. And I still love dirt jumps. :)
