Birthday Parties and a New Team

Yesterday I attended the surprise birthday party for my friend Lindsey Bishop. Lindsey is an up and coming racer, and I have the feeling you'll start to see her name around. She is fast, and only going to get faster. And we are now teammates on the Spike Shooter team. Psyched.
The party was my first chance to hang out with the Spike crowd as a part of the team. I started asking around about how to get onto the team at the end of last season. Why them? Truthfully, because I thought the other girls in my category who raced for Spike last season were damn cool. These girls (Kennon and Stephanie) both race because they love it. It can be easy to get caught up in the racing pressure and be overbearing or stressed out, but not them. So I thought, whatever team they're on must be pretty fun. After a few inquiries and some waiting, for the first time in my mountain biking life, I'm on a large team.
Of course, I'll always hold up my gold standard of racing with the guys at Michigan Tech. And I can't forget the absolute sweetness of racing for the coolest sponsors ever, Dirt Rag and Swobo. But it's time for me to let someone else take care of all the groundwork, and just go race. And it's damn cool to have all of these experienced racers to learn from.

Congratulations on the new team. Enough of this skiing crap let's get out and ride. I keep seeing Lindsey out on the bike. We need to get you out too.
