I first heard about these last season and seriously coveted a spot, but costs are prohibitive.

Beware of Dirt Series. I attended 2 years ago and ended up with a shattered collarbone that required 2 surgeries and I'm still not fully recovered. I also learned after my crash about a woman that ended up disabled due to a spinal injury that she got at Dirt Series.

The course work was good. It is when we hit the trails that all went south. Our instructor, a downhill racer, kept pushing us to try obstacles that were above our group's ability. I decided to try one, thinking she would coach me through it. When I ended up in an end O, she said she said "I thought you were so good that I wasn't paying attention." Needless to say, I didn't get any refund for not finishing the course or any type of reimbursement to cover my surgeries which cost me $20K to date.

Think carefully before signing up to ride with this group.

Still impaired and not happy about it,
