Nope, don't worry, I'm in one piece, aside from my newfound allergy of something that is blooming right now in Colorado. But my friend Ted is a little worse for the wear. During a group ride last weekend on a certain illegal trail that won't be named (hint for Springs residents: it involves riding through a shooting range), he lost focus for a moment on a section that he's ridden many times before. And in that moment, he hit a boulder. With his face.
He's remarkably lucky: No broken facial bones, no concussion, nose intact. He's just minus part of one front tooth, and the other front tooth is re-inserted and waiting (per dentist's orders) to see if it will reattach. Moral of the story? Wear your helmet, dangit. Ted would probably very very hurt if not for his.
And he gets to eat lots of milkshakes.
Also, I need to give credit for the pictures in my last post (Race Report: MSC #1 Day Two). Thanks, Grant Clayton, for the photos and good company at the races!
