Everyone agrees: The toughest part of the Snowmass cross country course is the infamous second climb, up what is known as the Powerline Trail. We didn’t hit it until our second lap, after doing a short lap first, omitting the Powerline. The long, second lap gave us some sweet, sweet time on the Government Trail (whose fame is well-deserved). But riding the long lap last meant that our final act, after climbing up Snowmass twice and riding the Government, was the brutal, unforgiving, and seemingly unending last climb out. That painful trail leaves every rider mentally drained and incapacitated. Long story short, I ended up last place...but with a good time. I guess we had a solid field this weekend.
Pro Women went to Dellys Starr of the Dale's Pale Ale squad, while Jay Henry had another solid win in the Men's field.
