MSC #6 Race Report: Intergalactic Pump Track Championships

The gang was all there, from groms to World Champions. Mike (the main dude, and nice guy, from MSC) announced and two USA Cycling officials were on course to do the timing (yeah, that’s right, we were sanctioned!) My friend Will (check out his report from the race here) and I lined up with forty or so other folks. Boyce did an exhibition lap, and then we all did our timed runs. Representing the ladies were myself, Mo Hein, and Bobbi Watt (you have to make motorcycle noises out of her name when she’s riding, like this: WAAATTT WAAAAATTT). Representing the fellas were many many folks, including Lee McCormack (he literally wrote the book on pump tracks), and Brian Lopes, World Champion.
After our initial runs, we were split into A and B groups to do our final runs. I was definitely B group, but Bobbi killed it into the As, along with Will and all the fast dudes. The outcome? Will was solidly in the center of the As, with Lopes adding Intergalactic Pump Track Champion to his host of titles, Lee and Bobbi following him up.
