Today I was supposed to go up to Breckenridge to get in some Nordic skiing (that's cross country skiing for you laymen). Unfortunatly life seemed to conspire against this plan. Best laid plans of mice and men...
So I grabbed a buddie and went for a road ride around town. We looped through the Garden of the Gods, this incredible rock formation in the middle of town that has been turned into a free city park. It's beautiful red rock, with cycling lanes all the way through it. Now I'm not much of a roadie, but when I get to ride with a view like the one in the photo above, I can't really resist. The rest of the route took us up into the foothills of Pikes Peak, which are really mountains in their own right. I just haven't learned their names yet.
