MSC #6 Race Report: Super-D

Racing Super-D rocked this season! It's a discipline I do reasonably well in, and enjoy the process of improving myself. Where some of my cross-country competitors scoff at working on skills, and would rather go ride up endless hills as training, I go to the dirt jumps and the pump tracks. Now, I'm nothing special on either, but it's a helluva lot more fun than... suffering up some endless fire road.
Anyways, the last Super-D of the Mountain States Cup was this weekend, and it was definitely big-bike friendly. Nothing unridable on my little XC rig, but rocks and braking ruts the would've been more fun on a bigger bike. The course started out with a parade lap around the top of the ski hill, with a moto-cross style backward LeMans start (when the gun went off we were literally sitting on our front tires. crazy!) I hit the singletrack in second, holding on until about a third of the way down. A moment of lost concentration, and I was in the dirt. Unhurt but further behind, I finished my run for a final place of 4th. This also cinched my second place for the Super-D Series. Yay.
But, watch for more posts from me, because I redeemed myself somewhere amongst the Intergalactic Super-D Championships, Cross Country Races, and Moustache Cup.

Awesome Job! I would love it if Kipp Rd had a lift, I love flying down that hill.
Great season!
