A couple months ago I posted about my commute in Michigan. My new commute, while not as beautiful (how can you match the northern shores of Lake Michigan?), has begun to grow on me. I ride the seven miles to work a couple days a week on my neon orange 'cross bike, following the little green pictures of a man on a bicycle. My route parallels the highway, or more romantically, parallels Monument Creek. It's a quick way to get to work, since the path goes over or under major roads, so I just start spinning and roll.
Now the caveat: my so-called bike light is a tiny little headlamp that doesn't illuminate the trail for diddly. And since it is dark here at 5, I practice what I call interpretive riding. Basically I let the bike do the riding for me since I can't see the trail--I have't eaten it yet...
